Doosan are providing customers of its high specification Pro-5 Series with a series of new options packs, designed to meet a variety of application requirements. Four new options packs have been announced covering safety, productivity, operators and truck durability…
Productivity can be improved with new on-board weigh scales. The scales are integral to the truck operation, and are able to record, store and print load weights.
Operators can be treated to their own pack, with a set of Doosan merchandise, or add finger-tip control for greater comfort and convenience. The latest finger-tip controllers also come complete with a built in auto-shift controller, sensors designed to prevent excessive tyre and drive train wear when operators change direction.
The Tough Pack bolsters the trucks’ already renowned sturdy performance with additional protection to the undercarriage and cooling system. Combined with Doosan’s signature standard feature of oil cooled disk brakes, the upgraded Tough machines are ideal for operations where dust ingress or overheating has proved a problem. Virtually maintenance free, the revolutionary oil-cooled disc brakes are an enclosed brake system eliminating outside contamination which extends brake life by up to five times.
Finally, the Safety pack adds engine start only with the seatbelt engaged and hi-visibility seatbelts for clear identification by managers. Doosan Pro-5s already carry the Operator Sensing System as standard, a simple detection system designed to prevent mis-operation. To prevent the motion of the truck without a seated operator, OSS will place the transmission in neutral within three seconds of leaving the seat. Other OSS features also help prevent the accidental raising and lowering of the forks and the exiting of the truck without applying the handbrake.
Paul Watson, DIUK general sales manager, believes these new upgrades will help Doosan to build on their reputation for quality, well priced equipment: “Our lifetime guarantee on brakes has already helped set us apart from the truck market, these trucks now have every option available to make them more efficient, user friendly and durable.”
With businesses watching every penny of the bottom line, it’s hoped that these additional options will help demonstrate where fleet users can prevent expensive repair or accident bills, yet ultimately the whole package adds up to better value.
“Uptime is the Holy Grail in this industry,” explains Paul “and these machines with their enhanced technology, operator comfort refinements, performance efficiencies and serviceability advances undoubtedly help in this quest.”
